HTHS Finance Club
Finance and economics competitions, two in-house investment programs, and guest speakers from industry. Meets weekly in Mr. Brown’s Room 110.
Three ways to take part
Finance Club is open to any High Tech student interested in finance, economics, or business. Members come from math, debate, computer science, and entrepreneurship backgrounds and work in mixed teams. No prior coursework is required.
Competitions
Several weeks of research on an economy or a company, presented to a panel of judges.
Investment programs
An investment group and a six-week quant fellowship, competing in the same portfolio contest.
Entrepreneurship
Venture pitches judged by entrepreneurs. Winners receive funding and cash prizes.
Two programs the club runs itself
They compete all year on one metric: returns relative to risk taken.
High Tech Investment Group
A weekly seminar on economic policy and current market events. Members run pitch competitions against each other, and tiers inside the group are earned by contribution to discussion.

High Tech Quant Fellowship
Six weeks on the fundamentals of quantitative trading, from a curriculum co-designed with working quant researchers. Each fellow finishes by writing their own script.

Economic policy discussion, pitch competitions, merit tiers, and a year-long portfolio contest against HTQF.
Griffith, Pagarkar, Awasthi, RancitelliQuantitative trading fundamentals, co-designed with working quant researchers. Ends with a script you wrote.
Yip, WuFifteen minutes on a euro-area economy and one challenge facing it. HTHS has reached the National Semifinal, top 25 in the US.
Griffith, Awasthi, DulgerA research and writing program from the New York Fed, built each cycle around a set theme.
Pagarkar, RancitelliA team-managed portfolio inside an online market simulator, run by the Wharton School.
Dulger, BatraThe same shape as Wharton, self-led. Teams set their own schedule and research process.
Okon, Batra, LinDevelop a concept into a venture. Winners receive funding to build it, plus higher-education support.
KhanwaniThousands of high school founders worldwide pitching to experienced entrepreneurs for cash prizes.
KhanwaniA once-a-year exam across the breadth of economics, with a self-paced lesson track.
KhanwaniInternal competitions run with Debate, Research, and others between the external deadlines.

Nothing here is binding. Most members do several at once.
