The format

How it runs

HTIG meets weekly to discuss economic policy and current market events. Members are expected to read ahead of each session.

Discussion

Weekly seminar

Economic policy and current market events, discussed as a group. Members are expected to prepare as they would for a class.

Pitches

Internal competitions

Members make the case for a position, take questions, and defend it in front of the group.

Advancement

Merit tiers

Tiers inside the group are earned by contribution to discussion. No interview or application, and no prerequisites.

The main project

Portfolio simulation

HTIG runs a portfolio simulation against the fellows in HTQF. HTIG builds positions from discussion and pitched theses; HTQF builds them from scripts. Highest return relative to risk taken wins.
